Our gray iron castings are produced using controlled green sand molding and coremaking techniques, supported by automatic molding lines and robust melting capabilities. This process ensures the graphite forms in a flake‑like microstructure, giving the material its characteristic gray color when fractured and imparting properties such as good compressive strength and effective vibration damping.

Casting Capabilities
We produce Class 30 gray iron castings in accordance with ASTM A48 specifications at our green sand foundry, with the capabilities required to meet your most demanding applications, including:

• Casting Weights: Phenix Foundry’s equipment is configured to handle small to medium lot sizes tailored to customer requirements, making it ideal for both prototype and production work. We can produce small parts under 1 lb in quantities of 10,000 or more.

• Green Sand Molding: Two high‑pressure automatic molding lines enable consistent casting quality and repeatability across lots.

• Core and Melt Management: Dedicated core making support and coreless induction furnaces deliver dependable melt control and chemical consistency.

• Finishing: A combination of blast and grinding stations helps ensure castings are clean and prepared for downstream machining.
